Dan's Construction and Repair Blog

Hello! My name is Dan and this is my construction and repair blog. I don't work in the industry myself, I have recently used a lot of different contractors during the construction of my home. Construction contractors used machinery to dig and lay the foundations for my home before the walls and trusses where installed. A roofing company installed a metal roof and contractors installed plumbing and electrical utilities. I was very impressed with the results and I learnt lots of cool things during the completion of this project. This blog contains information which will be useful to other people who plan to work with construction contractors.

Why You Should Always Let Experts Install Your Chain Link Fence

Installing a chain link fence can seem like a simple task. However, you can make some mistakes which can compromise the safety of your home. An example is fixing the tension band incorrectly, which makes it possible for someone to remove them and gain access to the house. As such, to avoid such incidences, it is necessary to contract experts to carry out the installation. Below are additional reasons why you should always get experts to perform this task.

Ensure Strong Foundations

Both the terminal and the line posts require strong foundations since they have to support the entire weight of the fence. As an amateur, you lack the professional knowledge on the amount of concrete needed or the right depth of the hole. The result can be a foundation that might seem strong but will break down, causing the poles to collapse because of the weight of the fence. Professional installers assess various factors when digging the foundations. These include the total size of the fence and whether the particular post is a terminal post or line post.

Guarantee Secure Attachments

Once you have built stable foundations and secured the poles, the next step is affixing the chain link fence to the poles. To facilitate this, you have to attach the tension wire clips, top rails and bottom tension wire. Amateurs are likely to make mistakes when they are adding these fittings, and this will result in a week fence. As such, animals and intruders can easily go over the fence or even pull it aside and sneak through.

The Presence of Utility Lines

Various arrangements have to be made before you start installing the fence. Some of these include determining the extent of your property and assessing the utility lines within your compound. As an amateur, you can easily ignore the last step, which can cause you to damage utility lines. An example is cracking the water pipe when you are digging a hole for the poles. However, when you have contracted professionals to carry out this task, they will conduct proper preparations to ensure that such incidences do not occur.

Provide Professional Advice

Professional installers have the experience to offer advice regarding chain link fencing. They can guide you on how to plant vines on your fence to make it more beautiful and camouflage it from any intruders. Additionally, they will advise you on ideal maintenance tips that will ensure your chain link fence lasts for a long time.
